Bernie is Joint Senior Clerk to Chambers with over 45 years of experience as a Barrister’s clerk. He began his career as a clerk in 1973 at One Essex Court (OEC); he then moved to Queen Elizabeth Building (QEB – the Chambers now known as The 36 Group (Commercial)) before joining 7 King’s Bench Walk in December 1989. He qualified as a member of the Institute of Barrister’s Clerks in 1986.

Ed joined chambers in 1991 as a junior clerk when Adrian Hamilton QC was head of chambers. In his 23 years at such a busy and well respected set he has gained invaluable experience in all aspects of clerking and above all appreciates the importance of providing solicitors and clients with an honest, efficient and friendly service.

Gary joined Chambers as a junior clerk in 1998 and now holds the position as 1st Junior Clerk. Having been at 7KBW for over 20 years, he has an in depth knowledge on the running of Chambers and his principle duties include the daily liaison with clients in relation to practices, distribution of work, management of Counsels’ diaries and fee negotiation.

Joe joined chambers as a junior clerk in 2012. After a successful two years at 7KBW, he was promoted to the senior clerking team. His main duties include fixing hearings in all divisions of the High Court, management of counsels’ diaries and negotiation of fees for members of chambers.

Sean joined 7KBW in August 2019, having previously been the arbitrators’ assistant at Twenty Essex. Sean assists the full-time arbitrators and barristers who accept arbitral appointments. This includes handling new appointment enquiries, addressing enquiries on ongoing cases and the day to day administrative dealings.

Chantal joined 7 King’s Bench Walk in 2011. Chantal’s duties include event management, talks and seminars, development of chambers’ marketing strategy, running the website and social media, legal submissions, marketing overseas, pupillage management, client relationship and database management.
