Ed joined chambers in 1991 as a junior clerk when Adrian Hamilton QC was head of chambers. In his many decades at such a busy and well-respected set he has gained invaluable experience in all aspects of clerking and above all appreciates the importance of providing solicitors and clients with an honest, efficient, and friendly service.
He is involved in all aspects of diary management and regularly fixes hearings in the High Court and with arbitral tribunals. He deals with fee negotiation at all levels and is also involved in various aspects of internal chambers administration and management. He oversees and assists the junior members of the clerking team to ensure that deadlines are met, and the high standards of chambers are maintained.
Before the arrival of sprogs, he enjoyed eating out and relaxing holidays. These days what limited free time he has is given over to reading/watching science fiction, keeping up with current affairs, archery, clay pigeon shooting, following the antics of The Arsenal, riding his motorcycle within prevailing speed limits and avoiding using public transport.
