Peter MacDonald Eggers KC will be speaking as part of a panel for LSLC’s upcoming seminar “Commodities Fraud: How reliable is the victim’s recourse under their security and insurance arrangements” on Wednesday 26 June 2024.

The panel will be chaired by The Hon. Mr. Justice Andrew Baker. Peter will be joined on the panel by Mark Jones of 36 Stone and John Robb of Essex Court Chambers.

Specific issues for discussion will be:

2. The ‘causation’ argument that defeated the bank’s claim in Unicredit Bank AG v Euronav NV, and its wider implications
3. ‘Insurable interest’ in a cargo sold many times over as analysed by the Court of Appeal and Mr Justice Butcher in the Quadra Commodities case
