David Edwards KC and Rebecca Sabben-Clare KC to examine “Insurance disputes in the face of global change and challenges” during LIDW25

4th Jun 2025, 9:00 am - 10:30 am
Herbert Smith Freehills LLP

David Edwards KC and Rebecca Sabben-Clare KC will be discussing “Insurance disputes in the face of global change and challenges” with Sarah McNally, Partner, Herbert Smith Freehills and Solomonic CEO Edward Bird on Wednesday 4 June as part of London International Disputes Week 2025.

The event will look at the extraordinary run of global events and developments over the past decade which have given rise to possible insurance claims for Covid losses, losses from war and conflict, wide-spread cyber attacks, losses connected to climate change, more frequent natural catastrophes and environmental damage, and increasing insurance backed M&A risks. With new events and risks arising all the time the panel will consider how parties are looking to insurance to cover some or all of these risks, the approach of the courts (and arbitral tribunals) so far, as well as how insurance will be relevant to the risks businesses will face in coming years.

With its theme “Innovation in dispute resolution: navigating global risks”, LIDW25 will be holding a series of events looking at key issues and trends across the international commercial disputes community.
