Jerome is developing a busy practice and accepts instructions across all areas of commercial law including civil fraud, insurance, financial services, and professional negligence.

Prior to joining Chambers, Jerome worked as a Senior Associate in the London office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, where he experienced a wide range of corporate and commercial work, including substantial civil fraud work. As a result of this experience, Jerome is used to working in teams and understands the needs of instructing solicitors and clients. Jerome was also previously the judicial assistant to the President of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal and a lawyer at Allens Linklaters in Sydney, Australia. Jerome completed the BCL (distinction) at the University of Oxford.

  • NMC Healthcare Ltd and ors v Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty, Pransanth Manghat and Bank of Baroda: Acting for the Claimants, NMC Healthcare Ltd, NMC Holding Ltd and the joint administrators, in respect of claims in the courts of the Abu Dhabi Global Market against one of the former principal shareholders, a former CEO and the Bank of Baroda, which allege a substantial fraud perpetrated against the NMC Group (a UAE-based healthcare group) by the main shareholders, and the collusion of the senior management and the Bank of Baroda, in respect of the dissipation of several billion dollars
  • ArcelorMittal USA LLC v Ruia & Essar [2020] EWHC 740 (Comm): As a solicitor, acted for Essar Global Fund Limited and successfully opposed US$1.5 billion worldwide freezing order application
  • UBS Switzerland AG v Kumar [2024] EWHC 1058 (Ch): Assisted (during pupillage) in breach of director’s duties claims by UBS (as assignee) against the former director of a commodity trading firm.
  • Law Debenture v Ukraine [2023] UKSC 11; [2024] A.C. 411: As a solicitor, acted for Ukraine in > US$4 billion claim brought by Law Debenture on behalf of Russia, including in two high-profile appeals to the United Kingdom Supreme Court and in intervention in the Times Travel UKSC appeal ([2021] UKSC 40; [2023] A.C. 101).
  • Acting for oil and gas company in defence to Commercial Court claim for >US$80m arising out of alleged breach of a share sale and purchase agreement.
  • Delos Shipholding SA & Ors v Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty SE & Ors [2024] EWHC 719 (Comm): Assisted (during pupillage) in a dispute under a marine insurance policy arising out ship’s detention in Indonesia.
  • Assisted (during pupillage) in property insurance claim where insurer alleged fraud by the insured.
  • Assisted (during pupillage) in business interruption insurance claims arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Re NMC Healthcare: As a solicitor, acted for the joint administrators of the NMC Healthcare group of companies in the US$7 billion restructuring
  • NMC Healthcare Ltd v Noor Capital PSC: As a solicitor, acted for NMC Healthcare Ltd in obtaining an anti-suit injunction to prevent Noor Capital (a UAE-based financial institution) from enforcing an AED 567m judgment
  • Re Hellas Communications (Luxembourg) II SCA: As a solicitor, acted for a creditor to replace the liquidators of Hellas Communications (Luxembourg) II SCA
  • Instructed in three LMAA arbitrations arising out of the alleged termination of technical and commercial management agreements
