Eddie Johns and Gary Rose appointed Joint Senior Clerks from 1 October 2026
7 King’s Bench Walk (7KBW) has announced that Greg Leyden will retire from his position as Senior Clerk after 42 years of distinguished service to Chambers. Eddie Johns and Gary Rose will become Joint Senior Clerks on 1 October 2026.
Greg has played a central role in 7KBW’s growth and in establishing its reputation as a leading commercial set. Chambers is immensely grateful to Greg for his outstanding contribution over four decades. Following his retirement as Senior Clerk, he will remain with Chambers as a consultant until spring 2027, supporting an orderly transition to the new leadership team.
7KBW is delighted to announce the promotion of Eddie and Gary into the Joint Senior Clerk role. Eddie and Gary are exceptional clerks with a deep understanding of our members, clients and markets. Their appointments provide continuity while supporting 7KBW’s ambitions for further growth in the UK and internationally.
Eddie and Gary will be ably supported by the senior clerking team: Joe Clayton, Declan Gray, Zoe Hamilton and Macie Allen, together with the arbitrators’ clerks, Sean Hulbert and Jack Collins and the junior clerks. The 7KBW clerking team was named Clerking Team of the Year at the Legal 500 Bar Awards 2025.
